Fort Worth – Arlington, TX Testing Guide

Fort Worth-Arlington is the other half of the Metroplex – a name designated by the US Census Bureau to the cities of Texas comprising the metropolitan area. The other group consists of Dallas-Plano-Irving. It is also composed of 12 counties in this American State. Coining this name came from the fact that both Dallas and Fort Worth are considered the largest economic hubs and cultural centers of the North Central Texas. The Metroplex is furthermore subdivided into the following:

• Principal cities. There are three major cities in the Metroplex namely: Dallas, Fort Worth and Arlington.
• Counties. The twelve counties in this metropolitan area include: Collin; Dallas, Delta, Denton, Ellis, Hunt, Johnson, Kaufman, Parker, Rockwall, Tarrant and Wise.
• Other cities and towns. The other cities and towns found in the Metroplex are sub-classified according to population thus the following groups are derived: cities with population higher than 100,000 people; cities and towns with a population in between 10,000 and 100,000; and cities and towns with less than 10,000 people.

The main characteristics of these cities are evident if one is to classify Fort Worth and Arlington separately. Speaking of Fort Worth, it is the fifth largest city in the state of Texas at the same time the 17th largest in the whole US nation. It is strategically situated in the northern portion of Texas and has at least 300 square kilometers of total land area. The counties belonging to this major Texan city are Tarrant County and Denton County. Being the second largest economic and cultural center in the Metroplex area, it offers a wide array of business opportunities and tourist attractions to the public.

Arlington, on the other hand, is just a city found inside the Tarrant County. Despite this fact however, it is still the seventh largest in Texas and the 50th largest in the nation. It has a total land area of 256.5 square kilometers and is also appreciated as one of the best tourist spots because of various significances like the Texas Rangers’ Ballpark and the Six Flags Over Texas. It borders cities including Fort Worth that makes its linkage with the latter apparent in the Metroplex subdivision.
