    • Drug Testing Associations and the Promotion of a Drug-Free Workplace

    A drug-free workplace is not achieved overnight. It entails consistent promotion of healthy lifestyle among employees, as well as carefully-written and properly implemented drug testing programs. As we already know, drug testing in the workplace has long been marred with controversies – mostly due to privacy issues. Although the benefits of performing drug testing in the workplace have been explained many times in various books, news, studies and blogs, some people are still uneasy when it comes to undergoing the process.

    To help business owners, managers, directors, coordinators, representatives and government officials create and sustain a drug-free workplace, drug testing associations offer training, assistance and education that are essential in implementing an efficient and effective drug testing policy in their office environment.

    A drug testing association like the Substance Abuse Program Administrators Association (SAPAA) is formed to establish, promote, and communicate the highest standards of quality, integrity, and professionalism in the administration of workplace substance abuse prevention programs through education, training and the exchange of ideas.

    Of course, drug testing associations are not only limited to cater the workplace. There are some that provide training and education for churches, communities, schools, colleges, universities and so forth. The programs that the associations come up with are instrumental in making individuals become more informed about the dangers of using drugs and its impact to an individual’s work, life, family and community. A reputable drug testing associate ties up with other groups which they typically label as their drug testing associates to share their vision of achieving a drug-free society. All drug testing associations are united with the same goal of eliminating drug use and addiction in our community. For as long as they are around, we are assured of ample assistance and education no matter what industries we belong.
