Founded in 1976, James R. Reed and Associates initially responded to the need for environmental consulting services by industries desiring to monitor their impact on water quality and aquatic life. Original emphasis was on biological indicators of environmental impact. However, as regulations began to require a continually expanding list of chemical and biological monitoring, sophisticated chemical analytical instrumentation and toxics monitoring were gradually added to the firm’s capabilities.
