Drug and Alcohol Testing Industry Association or DATIA – Providing New Opportunities in the Drug and Alcohol Testing Industry

DATIA was founded in 1995 and was previously called the National Association of Collection Sites. It primarily represents the entire drug testing industry in
Washington DC and to date has 1300 members including laboratories, TPAs, testing equipment producers and manufacturers, collection sites and MROs.

The missions of DATIA evolve on four things. First, it wants to become the representation of the Washington, DC drug and alcohol testing industry when it comes to regulatory and legislative issues. Second, it endeavors to expand the market for drug and alcohol testing. Third, DATIA provides its members with necessary information and pertinent resources that will benefit their existing operations. Lastly, it also gears to promote the highest possible industry standards.

It can provide you a variety of information sources including newsletters, accreditation programs and Nationwide Product and Service Searchable Database. These three are crucial to make drug testing industries more competitive and cost-effective.

Privileges of becoming a DATIA member

There are two types of DATIA memberships. These two have their differences but have their similarities as well. As long as you are a DATIA member, you can have access to the quarterly Focus magazine, weekly eNews and information listed on the DATIA.org page. You will also become listed and searchable at the Searchable Internet Drug and Alcohol Testing Industry Directory and Buyer’s Guide. You also have the right to vote when it comes to the association’s matters. You can also attend networking events sponsored by the association and will be provided with discounts on training sessions, publications and annual conferences.

Despite sharing the same privileges with all DATIA members, there are certain benefits that may differ depending on which membership you have applied for. Take a look at the following:

6 + Membership. The Searchable Internet Drug and Alcohol Testing Industry Directory and Buyer’s Guide listing will be made available to 8 categories each for five company locations. Each of the five members can receive their own Focus magazines and other publication matters from DATIA. You can also be given DATIA Membership Mailing Labels that you may use to market your company.
Sustaining Membership. For this type of membership, the Searchable Internet Drug and Alcohol Testing Industry and Buyer’s Guide listing is unlimited in all categories. You can also receive DATIA publication matters for at most 10 of your company’s members. Your company will also be listed in the DATIA letterhead, plus you can have your company’s website link listed in DATIA.org. You will have two free sets of Mailing Labels from the company and will also be given a chance to purchase additional Mailing Label sets to market your company. You will also have 20% discount for conference sponsorships and will be given the chance to choose your booth location. Finally, you also get a complimentary registration for the association’s annual conference.
